Privacy

Last updated October 19, 2026

RecordWork is a free site for court reporters, voice writers, captioners, scopists and students. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers or cookies.

Email updates

If you sign up for email updates, we keep your email address and the states, topics and how often you chose. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address.

If you give us your email in a job post, listing, sponsor inquiry or feedback message, we keep it so we can reply. We do not add you to email updates unless you sign up for them yourself.

Things you send us

When you post a job, list your services in "Find a reporter" or ask about sponsorship, we keep what you typed in the form. Job posts and listings are shown publicly, including the contact you chose to share. Sponsor messages are private and only used to reply to you.

Saved jobs and notes

Jobs you save, your private notes and your saved searches stay in your own browser. They are not sent to us.

Visitor counts

We count page views and how many different visitors come each day. To tell visitors apart we use a one-way code made from your connection and browser that changes every day, so it can't be traced back to you. We don't store your IP address with it and we don't use cookies.

To stop spam, our forms and chat briefly keep your connection address together with a count of how many times it was used that hour. Those records are deleted within a day.

The assistant

RecordWork has a built-in AI assistant. It helps sort news headlines from the public court, school, association and news websites we monitor, and it answers questions in the chat. When you use the chat, your message is processed to find matching RecordWork listings; we don't save chat conversations. RecordWork's assistant only shows listings that already exist on RecordWork, and you should always check details at the original source.

Who helps us run the site

Cloudflare hosts RecordWork and provides its database, AI processing and email delivery. Your information is handled on Cloudflare's systems only to run this site. See Legal & credits for more.

Children

RecordWork is meant for adults and students working toward a career. It isn't directed to children under 13.

Questions or deletion

To ask a question, correct something or have your information deleted, email privacy@recordwork.org and we'll take care of it.
